Fort Fisher Manager- Amanda
Amanda started surfing at age 18 when she moved to Wilmington to attend UNCW. She surfed her first contest 3 years later – and won first place in her division! From there it was on- competing in all the professional women’s longboard contests within 3 hours of Wilmington, picking up a local sponsor from a surf shop, and two global sponsors. Throw in some surf travel to Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, and many weekends in the Outer Banks, Amanda is truly living her passion. In 2013, she was invited to surf the infamous first point at the Malibu Invitational, and graduated from UNCW with a degree in Marketing. She has since cut back on competition to focus more on enjoying time in the water, but still competes occasionally. She is super excited to be able to bring the stoke that catching a wave brings with people new to surfing, and also just to share that feeling you can only have from being surrounded by the ocean.
Amanda is the lead surf instructor at our Fort Fisher State Recreation Area. Give our office a call to book a lesson with her today!
