Escape the crowds and see the real Crystal Coast. Your naturalist guide will explain the historical and environmental wonders of our beautiful salt marsh eco-system. We often see bottle nose dolphins, ospreys, and the occasional bald eagle. Logger head turtles are also known to pop their heads up for some fresh air during their nesting season. This is our shortest trip. It consists of a basic lesson, and is in sheltered water. The participants don’t need to be able to swim well, but must be comfortable on the water. This kayak tour is approximately two hours.
Intro to Paddle Boarding (SUP)
Jump into the exciting new sport of stand up paddle boarding with one of our SUP intro classes. If you are interested in experiencing something new, or want to work on your current skills, this tour is a perfect way to get you on the water. Join us and feel the amazing freedom paddle boarding brings. This SUP tour/lesson is between one and a half and two hours.
Bear Island Kayak Tour
Paddle to this amazing loggerhead turtle nesting ground and explore lush salt marsh estuaries along the way. Learn how dugout canoes used to travel these same waters carrying Indians as they paddled to their favorite fishing grounds, and year’s later pirates used the calm waterways to hide and stalk unlucky merchant ships laden with riches. This kayak tour is approximately four hours.
Huggins Island Kayak Circumnavigation Tour
Huggins Island’s thick maritime forest provides sharp contrast to the sand dunes of Bear Island while still abounding with natural and political history. Look for the old earth works battery form your kayak, and learn how it played an important role for the town of Swansboro. This is also a great place to take out your binoculars and work on your life bird list, or watch for dolphins playing in the shallows. This kayak tour is approximately six hours.
